Dead Sea
1. Dead Sea
The Dead Sea is a hypersaline, or salt, lake that’s over 8 times more salty compared to ocean. It lies between Israel and also the West Bank and Jordan. The Dead Sea can also be referred to as “Sea of Salt.” The shores from the lake are 1,378 feet below sea level which makes it the lowest place on the earth’s surface. The Dead Sea is 1,247 feet deep which makes it the deepest hypersaline lake on the planet. The Dead Sea is 42 miles long and 11 miles wide. The Jordan River may be the primary tributary for the Dead Sea.
2. Ha Long Bay
Ha Long Bay is found in the Quang Ninh province of Vietnam. The bay includes a dense collection of 1,969 limestone monolithic islands which are covered with jungle vegetation. A number of these monolithic islands feature caves, grotto, lakes and secluded beaches. Two larger islands are the place to find permanent residents and even tourism services. Most of the islands feature wildlife which includes birds, bantams, antelopes, monkeys, and lizards.
3. K2
K2 may be the second highest mountain on earth situated in Pakistan as part of the Himalayan mountain range. 5. Tubbataha Reef
Tubbataha Reef is found in the Sulu Sea offset in the coast of the Philippines. The name is translated in the two words which collectively mean “long reef exposed at low tide.” Tubbataha Reef is really two atoll coral reef systems using the largest of the two stretching 10 miles (16 km) long and three miles (5 km) wide. The second and smaller of these two atolls measures 3 miles (5 km) long and (3 km) wide.
Tubbataha Reef and also the atolls serve as a sanctuary for more than 1,000 species. Visitors towards the area may encounter lionfish, tortoises, manta rays, clown fish and sharks.
